Advanced Sophomore English adheres to the California State Standards for 9th and 10th Grade, but students in ASE are challenged to read, write, and think at a more critical level. Students complete a summer reading assignment, and are expected to read at least one Outside Reading Book per quarter.

You probably aren’t going to get this tonight, but I wanted to send you what my thesis statement says just to see if I should change it at all. Ive been working on it since the weekend, but I just got to a point where I got comfortable with it. So don’t think I saved it for the last minute, cause I didn’t!
Though Seventeen magazine does use a variety of all forms, its main form of advertising is pathos. Seventeen is a magazine for girls in their teen years, who are looking for advice on how to be fashionable and beautiful, and they trust that Seventeen will tell them how to be that. By seeing articles with beautiful girls all throughout the magazine, it stirs up different kinds of emotions in the girls making them think that if they buy that product, they will look like the girl in the advertisement and be beautiful and fashionable.
